remisses were a short-lived indie rock band in 2012 who met while re-taking driver's ed for the second (and, in Jay's case, third) time. None of them passed, but instead of taking the class again they formed a band. The sessions comprising this album were recorded with producer Stroker Ace. Gator McClusky was supposed to release them on his label, White Lightning Records, but Gator being Gator never launched label, and the songs sat on his laptop.

(that's the legend. what really happened was Cullen Gallagher [me] was cleaning up an old drive and found this album which was never released. it was written at a time in my life when I wanted to try something different from instrumental music, but I had never sang in a band, and didn't really know how to write lyrics or vocal melodies. the last song with lyrics I had written was back in 1994, "gravestone of munch" and "hippie fit" when I was 9 years old. shortly after recording these I started a hardcore band and went in a different musical direction. 12 years later, these songs are finally seeing the light of day.)
